Hellow,
I was wondering if there's any more vegetarians around here? I've been vegetarian for ... a year and a half, I think.
I would like to be! Do you have any helpful suggestions/websites to recommend for recipes?
I don't know any websites, but I do have a whole book of vegetarian recipes. You can get some nice things from the shops here, too. For example, you can get spicy bean burgers, which are made from kidney beans and spices and mixed with a few other vegetables, or some things are made from quarn. I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that quarn is actually made from mushrooms that have been packed in together, then made into burger or sausage sor whatever shapes. Hope this is helpful.
Yeh, i pretty much am, coz, my body can't retain iron so, it doesn't matter if i eate meat or not. lol But, yeh, there are some really awesome foods out there.
I like the topic btw...
I tried it once, and it didn't last. However, I don't eat any cow products.
I've got a book with quite a few recipes in, if anyone's interested?
I can't believe it! I thought everyone else was eating meat. I have been vegetarian for about 2 years now. I still eat dairy and eggs though. I also have some recipes if anyone is interested. And I'm always up for more.
I used to be a vegetarian until about six years ago. Mine didn't last, either.
I do eat eggs and cheese and stuff as well. I'll have to scan my book again, but if anyone wants a copy of some recipes, just send me a private quicknote or something.
I’ve been a vegetarian for over eight years now and I don’t think anyone could ever convince me to go back to eating meat again. The transition was rather simple for me since I never really cared that much for the taste of meat in the first place.
If you’re looking for some web resources, you might want to check these ones out. I found them to be extremely helpful when I first became a vegetarian.
www.vegweb.com – online recipes, cooking tips, and message boards
www.vrg.org - The Vegetarian Resource Group providing all kinds of information about being a vegetarian
Hope this information helps anyone who is interested in becoming a vegetarian or to anyone who just wants more information on the subject.
Thanks. Will look at those at some point.
Thank you all for being vegetarians. That leaves more animal flesh for me to feast on. It just wouldn't be right for an animal to give its life, only to waste the meat. Somebody's gotta eat it, so ahem, I guess it shall be me.
Don't take offense, ya'll. Vegetarians might be healthier, but I'll pay the price.
I've been a vegetarian for about eight years.
And thanks for the resources.
I am a vegitarian! I'm 23 and have been a vegitarian all of my life. To be honest I find the idea of eating meet utterly crazy and incomprihensible! I like Quorn but I had no idea that it was made out of compressed mushromes! I find it really difficult to find vegitarian recipe books that are an accessible format, that is to say braille or audio. Does anyone happen to know of any? and yes, great topic!
If you're in the UK, you can get braille or audio books from RNIB's library service. They used to be the National Library for the Blind. I'm not sure what the equivalent is in other countries, but sure there must be some.
Yes I am in the UK. I've been looking on reveal web for recipe books but can't find any vegitarian ones or indeed any that look like they might be useful but I will keep on looking!
